Jeff Berens, CPDT-KA|
Certified Professional Dog Trainer
Canine Training Services
Jeff began working with us in February of 2010 as a technician assistant, utilizing his experience in dog training and behavior he naturally began helping our clients with a variety of concerns they were having with their dogs. In 2007, he turned passion into career when he began training dogs professionally. He has since become a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and received his certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, finding him to be ethical and knowledgeable in professional dog training and behavior.
Jeff’s passion for understanding dogs has led him to countless hours of study in canine evolution, breed characteristics, and training methods. Believing that there is no single magic formula, his training style is based upon operant conditioning and is rooted in REWARD BASED TRAINING. Using this positive reinforcement technique, Jeff works closely with our veterinarians to ensure that you and your canine companions live healthy, happy lives together.
Jeff believes there is hope for all dogs in need of rehabilitation as they learn new ways to cope with today’s challenging world. Through rescue organizations, he has fostered and trained dogs with behavior issues, allowing him to better understand these dogs and help with placement in their forever homes. Jeff has always enjoyed working with dogs that have disabilities, having adopted three Boxers that are deaf. A combination of obedience signals, American Sign Language, and behavior modification has allowed these dogs to enjoy happy, well balanced lives.
Jeff believes that ALL DOGS ARE GOOD DOGS. We only need to shape their behavior and teach them how to live and interact with their human companions. Whatever your goal is, he can help you reach it through our group classes, private lessons or board and train programs.
